I installed a kvm guest via command line successfully but was surprised to see the block device was /dev/sda, not /dev/vda. I use lvm on the host system to create a logical volume for the guest, then call that out as the disk path for the guest storage. Oddly thoughm when i create a guest using virt-,anager, the guest block device is seen as /dev/vda. I need command line guest creation to create a guest with /dev/vda as the block device and cannot find how to do this or why it appears as /dev/sda. This is especially needed so I can execute an online disk expansion on the guest, which i can do as long as the guest block device is /dev/vda. Any ideas why command line virt-install creates a /dev/sda device and how i can use command line to creaet a guest with /dev/vda block device?
